Banyan trees giving more oxygen are also not safe, need protection

Bhopal, Navdunia Representative. Banyan trees, which give oxygen, are being cut in the race of indiscriminate development. They were first harvested in the expansion of cities. Because of this, the banyans disappeared from the cities. Only a few trees are left. They are not safe even in villages. There the harvesting has started. The number of banyan trees has decreased rapidly in the last five years. People are planting new saplings but they are hardly able to become trees.

– Retired Forest Officer Dr. Sudesh Baghmare says that this tree is very big, which spreads in more area. People in cities have started cutting down some trees to make use of the land. They should be protected by identifying the local administration.

Retired Forest Officer Ramakant Dixit says that with the increase in population, people in villages have started using 100 percent land. Because of this, the banyan trees spread over a large area are not safe. It is necessary to save them.

Thousands of years old banyan tree is spread over a large area in Kaluam Kheda of Vidisha.

There is a 300-year-old banyan tree in Bhopal’s Kamala Park.

Its leaves are thick in size. Because of this, oxygen is available more than normal trees.

This tree never perishes by itself, unless it is cut down.

Banyan tree is the national tree. Trimurti resides in it. Vishnu, Brahma, Maheshwar are seated. Gives good oxygen. Works as medicine.
