Head constable arrested for taking bribe of 10 thousand from hotel operator in Ujjain

Ujjain. The Lokayukta has arrested the head constable while taking a bribe of ten thousand rupees from the hotel operator. The accused head constable is posted in the cyber cell and was demanding prisoner from the hotel operator in the name of gambling. He was threatening to implicate the hotel operator in a false case if he did not pay the money. On Sunday, Lokayukta has arrested the accused head constable near the hotel operator’s house in Shastri Nagar.

Inspector Basant Srivastava told that Devesh Asthana resident Shastri Nagar operates the hotel. Praveen Singh, the head constable posted in the cyber cell from Asthana, was demanding a prisoner of ten thousand rupees in the name of gambling. Praveen had threatened Devesh that if he did not give the money, he would implicate him in a false case. Due to which Devesh complained to Lokayukta after being tortured.

Later Lokayukta recorded the conversation between the head constable and Devesh. After this, Devesh called the head constable near his house in Shastri Nagar to give money. As soon as the head constable Praveen Singh took the bribe money, the Lokayukta caught him red handed. During the action, TI Basant Srivastava, Balveer Singh Yadav, ASI Jagan Singh, constable Sandeep Vishal, Sunil, Umesh, Hitesh have carried out the action.
