Indore (AboutGyan Representative), IMC Budget 2021. The annual budget of Indore Municipal Corporation was passed on Wednesday, taking steps towards cleanliness, convenience and ease. In this, it is proposed to make five more wards zero waste, install solar lights on five major roads and provide water recharging facility in every house of five wards. Apart from setting up a new chlorination center at Rau, decisions have been taken to install sanitizer equipment at 56 shops, bus stands and railway stations. Preparations are on to start the construction of nine tanks this year for water supply in 29 villages falling within the municipal limits with the city. Municipal Corporation Administrator (Divisional Commissioner) Dr. Pawan Sharma and Municipal Commissioner Pratibha Pal informed about the provisions made in the budget in a press conference on Wednesday evening.
Wealth tax: Advance payment exemption till 30 September
The benefit of special exemption of 6.25 percent on advance property tax payment in 2021-22 will now be given till September 30 instead of June 30. Apart from this, December 31 has been fixed as the date for submission of property tax with return without any surcharge.
104 crores has been kept in the budget for Swachh Bharat Mission. The necessary equipment and other resources will be purchased from this amount.
500 metric ton capacity construction and demolition waste plant on trenching ground will be started in the ongoing financial year. Although, this work is to be done under private-public partnership, but still a token provision of five crore rupees has been made for this in the budget.
Another new material recovery facility will be constructed in 2021-22 under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Five more wards of the city will be made zero waste ward.
100 km long sewerage line will be laid
460 crore has been kept in the corporation budget for the construction, maintenance of sewerage treatment plant and sewer line.
The corporation will lay a new sewer line covering an area of 100 km in the city. Most of this work will be done in 29 villages falling within the urban limits.
New machines will be purchased for cleaning the ever-increasing sewer line, for which a provision of Rs 50 crore has been made.
doubled the amount for the prevention of corona
For the prevention of corona, earlier Rs 25 crore was kept in the budget, but now it has been increased to Rs 50 crore.
– Sanitizer equipment will be installed in other public places including 56 shops, railways, bus stands.
Due to Corona, the Municipal Corporation is getting biomedical waste (PPE kits, masks etc.) in large quantities. 5 crore has been approved in the budget for its disposal.
Two crore rupees have been kept in the budget for organic waste collection and disposal. The corporation will distribute masks free of cost or at subsidized rates in public places.
bus stand construction in vijay nagar
50 crore has been kept in the budget for public transport. Under this, works like buying 400 new buses, construction of new bus stops are proposed.
Construction of bus stand, BRTS depot at Vijay Nagar has also been proposed in the budget, which will start this year.
Created a sports cell for the first time
– The corporation will establish a sports cell. 20 crore has been kept in the budget for this.
Apart from making one sports ground in each assembly constituency, some sports grounds will be developed with private participation.
