The company has now changed the billing software and created a checking point which will mark abnormal bills. Which the officers will investigate. Inflated bills will be identified and checked: The company’s management claims that the software will catch the electricity bill issued by more than 20 to 30 percent of the consumer’s actual consumption. For this, a system of distribution center wise monitoring has been given. If billing of ten thousand rupees is being done in a distribution center and next month the same billing is getting 12 to 15 thousand rupees, then it will be clear that the billing has increased. In such a situation, the increased bills will be identified and checked. This work will be done at the level of Commerce Department. There the officials of the Billing Intelligence Unit will check the details of the bill. The company believes that the Commerce Department is receiving maximum complaints in this regard. This work has been started from June itself.

Double check: The power company still claims to check the billing at the distribution center level, but citing the busyness of the work, the officials do away with the investigation immediately. Now it will be investigated at the Chief Engineer level. If there is a discrepancy in over billing, then the question will be answered from the concerned officer there.
