Panchayat elections: Commission asks government to re-notify OBC reservation posts in seven days

Bhopal (State Bureau). The process will continue. This has been decided in a meeting convened in the commission on Saturday to consider the decision of the Supreme Court. The commission has written a letter to the state government that according to the decision of the Supreme Court, the posts with OBC reservation should also be re-notified (re-notified) in seven days. So that elections can be conducted on those seats also.

After a meeting which lasted for about an hour in the Madhya Pradesh State Election Commission, the commission asked the District Election Officers for the posts reserved for OBC 17 until December Instructions have been given to keep the deposit nomination papers safe. The commission also said that as per the decision of the Supreme Court, the process of election to other posts will continue as per the schedule announced earlier. In the meeting, the decision given by the Supreme Court in the past in K. Krishnamurthy and Vikas Kishan Rao Gawli case was also studied. It is noteworthy that for the Other Backward Classes in the state, District Panchayat member 155, Janpad Panchayat member , Sarpanch’s 4058 and Panch’s Thousand 582 posts are reserved. State Election Commission Secretary BS Jamod, OSD Durg Vijay Singh and other officers were present in the meeting. Under the program released for OBC, the election process of the posts of Panch, Sarpanch, Janpad Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat member reserved for OBC has been postponed.
