So far, the sand of sand contractors will also be transported by goods trains transporting wheat, soybean, DOC, cement and others. Senior DCM of Bhopal division Vijay Prakash has also signed a contract with the contractors of the sand company in this regard. With the efforts of railway officials, now the sand of Tawa and Narmada mines of the district will be sent from here to Indore, Ujjain, Sagar and Nashik. RKTC Group, the sand mining company of the district, has started transporting sand through railways considering it as an economical deal.

The contractors say that rail transport by road is cheap and accessible. They will be able to get the sand stock to the destination in less time than the offer of the Railways. Along with this, Railways has also got a new source of income. Vijay Prakash, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, West Central Railway, Bhopal Division said that freight transport is a major source of revenue for Indian Railways. For sand transportation, sand loading is being done by RKTC sand company from Kesar Hub terminal of Pawarkheda. This sand is being sent to Manglia Siding of Ratlam Division. The company’s regional officer Rinku Bohra told that they are finding the railway fare cheaper in rail transport. With less transportation cost, we will be able to sell sand at a lower price in other cities. Along with this, the maintenance of dumpers due to bad roads, costly diesel and the risk of road accidents will also be reduced. Some rakes have been sent to Indore. Sand will also be sent to Ujjain, Sagar and Nashik. One rake has been sent in the past, but sand traders of Indore have made preparations to send two rakes of sand daily.

The hassle of checking is also over: According to sources, despite being a royalty tree, sand dumpers running on the long route are allegedly arbitrarily done in the name of checking police, mineral posts and other places on the way. Cases of illegal recovery have also come to the fore in many cases. Sand suppliers will also get freedom from such hassles if they are transported by railways.

Revenue will increase:

We have spoken to contractors in sand mining districts adjoining the railroad to increase income from freight transport. We are offering sand rake at very less cost than road transport. We have got orders from companies for many cities. This will help in increasing railway revenue.
