Shivpuri. New World Representative

The second wave of the Corona epidemic badly hit the district. The situation became such that Shivpuri became one of the most infected cities of Madhya Pradesh. The infection rate here reached 40 percent, much higher than in other districts. Even in big cities like Gwalior, Indore, Bhopal and Jabalpur, the transition was less than in Shivpuri. There is a relief in the Corona figures for the last two-three days, but there are still about 2150 active patients in the district. The urban area was responsible for spreading the infection in the district. While the infection reached the rural area, it was stopped at the right time. Talking about the figures, 60 percent of the active patients are in the urban area, while only 20 percent of the population of the district lives in the city. The remaining 80 percent of the population lives in rural areas, with only Corona having an active patient of 40 percent. More than 60 percent of the gram panchayats in the district are included in the green zone. Here the infection should not enter, so the movement is completely restricted. Even at present, the rural people are showing more vigilance than the residents of the urban area. In cities, where people are not getting out of curfew, there is complete silence in rural areas. There is no need of police nor administration to follow the rules there. The villagers are fixing their duty and following the rules.

Villagers voluntarily corona curfew

While spreading the Corona infection, the biggest fear was that it would be difficult to control if it spread in rural areas. Initially infection also spread to Cararara, Kolarus and Pohri. More than 20 people died in Karaira. A large number of patients were found and died in Kolaras as well. Subsequently, the gram panchayats imposed a voluntary corona curfew to completely prevent the spread of infection from tehsils to villages and completely sealed the entry points of the village. No person from outside the village was given entry, whether any relative came or some other important work was done. Traffic was allowed only in the medical emergency, that too only to the resident of the village.

They say

Crisis management groups in the village are doing the right thing. Our great staff along with sarpanch, secretary, employment assistants are working there to prevent infection. Our effort is to increase the number of Green Zone Panchayats. There is also a reason for less infection spreading in the rural area that the man of the village is in his house. He is not leaving the house in Fizool. Villagers have blocked the entry way to the village. They are not even organizing weddings and other religious events.
