An alleged ‘Peeping Tom’ fell 10 feet through the ceiling of a gym changing room before landing on top of a woman.
Brian Anthony Joe, 41, has now been charged after officers said he fell into the room at the Onelife Fitness centre in Stafford County, Virginia, US.
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office said that the man, of Woodbridge, fell directly onto a woman during the incident at about 1.15pm on Saturday.
The force said: “Deputies responded to Onelife Fitness for a report of a man in his 20s falling through the ceiling of the women’s locker room.
“The suspect fell on a woman below.
“He was cornered by patrons at the gym until law enforcement arrived. The female was checked for injuries by rescue personnel at the scene, but she was not transported.
“The suspect fell approximately ten feet and was not injured.”
A Fox 5 DC news reporter said on social media that women inside the locker room claimed Joe was holding a cell phone when he came ‘tumbling down.’
It was said that they initially thought he was a maintenance worker, and that there were concerns that there could be more victims.
In a video on social media police, who are seen wearing Covid face mask coverings, appear to be escorting a man out of the gym as a small group of people look on.
Local police now said that Joe had been charged in connection with the incident, and he now faces a charge of burglary, three counts of peeping or spying into a building and one of vandalism.
Joe is currently being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
The case remains under investigation.
