Police officer ‘went to lockdown house party’ before drink-drive crash

police officer faces being sacked after she allegedly went to a house party during lockdown before being involved in a drink-drive crash.

The 24-year-old is accused of attending the family event on in April last year, while the UK was living under strict coronavirus restrictions.

She was convicted of drink-driving after failing a breathalyser test following the collision on the same night.

A notice on the police force’s website details the alleged misconduct, including a breach of the Welsh Government lockdown rules and drink-driving.

The notice said the breaches, if proven, would amount to “gross misconduct that is so serious as to justify dismissal”.
