MUMBAI: The Azad Maidan police in Mumbai arrested a 40-year-old man for cheating a chartered accountant saying they were childhood friends.
The accused took the gold chain of the victim worth Rs 70,000 before disappearing from the spot.
The Incident took place last week near CST railway station.
“The complainant CA (63) was passing from the road when the accused — Anwar alias Munawwar Shaikh — stopped him saying he knew him for a long time and was his friend. He lured the victim and asked him to show his gold chain. Soon, the accused fled from the spot,” said a police source.
The accused was arrested on February 15, a few days after the case was registered.
