Money is deducted from your linked bank account as soon as you scan the QR code and enter the UPI PIN.

The thugs send you links by telling you to get cash back, loan pass, job and other rewards by trapping you. In the link, they either get you to fill in your information or download an application like Any Desk, Quick Support, Team Viewer and other mirror apps. By downloading this type of mirror app, all the activities of your phone’s display are seen and the password or PIN entered is visible to them through that mirror app. After this, he easily executes the fraud, till the time the fraud is known, the accused thugs transfer the money to their account through different apps.
