Khandwa Mhow Gauge Conversion: Khandwa (Naiduniya Rep). 
Approximately between Khandwa to Mhow 174 Up to kilometer meter gauge railway line is to be converted into broad gauge. In five and a half years out of this only 63 kilometers (approx. January 1 between Khandwa-Sanawad Rail traffic was closed for gauge conversion work. Even after more than five and a half years, the work has not been completed. The line from Sanawad to Khandwa via Mathela is ready, but the train service has not started. On the other hand, for a few days between Mhow and Mortakka, the train was run on the meter gauge route, which was again closed by the railways. Whereas at such a time when there is inconvenience due to the damage of the bridge built on the road, then it is necessary to start the service by rail. Railway is also not able to take a decision in this regard.
From 110 Distance covered up to kilometer
Ghat section comes between Mhow to Balwara. In this, a double engine was installed between some stations. In view of the Ghat section, this route is being brought from a greater distance. Earlier it was 70 kilometer in the survey. Now it is being increased to about 110 kilometers, so that the climb can be reduced.
Moretakka Bridge the only means
By road the old bridge and aqueduct bridge on the Narmada river at Mortakka near Barwah is the only means of transport. At present only small vehicles are allowed.
Survey being done in kilometer area
From Mhow to Mukhtyar Balwara 110 the railway is conducting the survey again in the kilometer area. A tender has been given to a company for this. After the completion of this work, the land acquisition process will take place. railway 2025- It is showing the possibility of completion of this work till . Couldn’t happen. The people of the area are bearing the brunt of the closure of rail traffic from the meter gauge line. The villagers are getting upset between Sanawad to Khandwa. Now the passengers are upset due to the problem in the bridge built on the Narmada river.
