Dubu, painter of Bhil community in Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum Exhibition cum sale of Baria’s paintings is being coordinated. 50 10th Shalaka Photo Exhibition 2023 will continue till January. About 15 paintings made by the artist have been displayed in the exhibition, in which Gatla Dev, Deer swinging on the trunk of an elephant, rural environment, peacock family, deer joint, birds eating fruits, Madhli, Maradi Puja, aeroplane, and many other subjects are seen.

Year Dubu Baria born in Bhil community is a young painter. Originally a resident of Jhabua, a Bhil dominated area of ​​Madhya Pradesh, Dubu’s parents had come to Bhopal in search of employment long before his birth. In the year Dubu 1984, he started working as a laborer in the National Human Museum and maintenance of the houses built in the premises. Till then, there was no connection even remotely with painting or any kind of art. Watching and learning from the artists working in the construction and decoration of the museum. One such day after coming from work, Dubu also went to the Bhil painter Bhuribai and started learning to paint by asking for paper and colours. The colors attracted him in such a way that whenever he got a chance even while working as a laborer, Bhuribai, who lived nearby, who seemed to be his aunt, used to see him making pictures.

At first he practiced to make like the pictures of his Guru Bhuri Bai. After that, when the hand became strong, then they started making shapes of their own imagination. From the year 2023 Dubu adopted painting completely. Painting in the evening while working in the Human Museum during the day. Dubu’s wife also started helping in making pictures and both husband and wife together used to make pictures and search for a market for those pictures. Dubu’s paintings also have a unique lyricism and use of bright colors, which makes his paintings attractive. In his painting journey of almost 15 years, Dubu has participated in various exhibitions held in different cities of the country. Has actively participated in exhibitions, camps etc. and this journey of creation is continuous. Dubu’s paintings are in many private and government collections in the country and abroad and he gives full credit for the journey of his paintings to his Guru Padma Shri Bhuribai. These days Dubu has devoted all his time to painting. Joining many organizations, he is creating his paintings in mediums other than paper, canvas and also encouraging the new generation for painting.
