In this 48 Haj pilgrims got trapped. Seven women, 48 year old girl and three men were stuck in the lift for half an hour. The passengers panicked and started suffocating. By stopping the operation of the lift in time, the passengers along with their luggage were evacuated safely. A bigger accident was averted.

According to the information, senior camera man of a TV channel Irshad Bhai, who was trapped inside the lift along with the passengers, informed friend TV journalist Mehtab Ali about the lift malfunction. Gave over the phone. After this, all the passengers trapped in the lift were pulled out one by one with the help of the staff there. After evacuating the passengers including suitcases and bags safely, they were made to sit under the wings, then the passengers heaved a sigh of relief. People’s anger erupted on the responsible officers of the MP Haj Committee after the video of evacuating the passengers trapped in the lift went viral on the internet media. The passengers trapped in the lift are from Bhopal, Rewa and surrounding districts. One has to come to the Haj House an hour in advance, here the pilgrims are accommodated, they are told the rules and regulations for going on Haj. After this the Haj pilgrims are sent to go for Haj. Here, when Navdunia asked the chairman of MP Haj Committee, Rafat Warsi, to confirm the incident on the phone, he said that what happened if the incident happened? Cameraman Irshad Bhai, who was stuck in the lift with the Haj pilgrims, told that the power supply had not stopped. The lift suddenly broke down due to lack of timely repair work. Stuck between the second and third floors. Everyone panicked due to lack of oxygen. There was no one to help on making noise, because no guard or employee has been arranged by the MP Haj Committee to operate the lift. Then called friend Mehtab and informed about the incident. It was a matter of gratitude that his phone rang from the lift. This brought help in time, from which all the people were evacuated. It was averted from getting bigger.

MLA Arif Masood condemned the incident

Assembly constituency in the center of the city MLA Arif Masood has condemned the incident of passengers getting stranded due to lift malfunction. He said that the lift of the Haj House was running only on the trust of the Hajis. Strict action should be taken against those responsible for such negligence. MLA Masood has expressed displeasure over the lack of accommodation for the pilgrims of the state in Haj.
