One day National Webinar on Ecosystem Conservation and Restoration started at Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa Mahavidyalaya on World Environment Day by the Chief Guest Prof. Akhilesh Pandey, Vice Chancellor, Vikram University, Ujjain and College Principal Dr RS Chandok paid floral tributes to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadurji.

On this occasion Convener Shikha Parashar, Co-Convener Dr. Archana Sharma, Organizing Secretary Dr. Harshita Shukla, Coordinators Sanjay Gupta and Sanjay Gupta were present. Keynote speaker Prof. Surendra Singh, Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, Director, University Institute of Professional Studies and Skill Development Centre, RDVV, Jabalpur, Prof. Amar Prakash Garg, Vice Chancellor, Shobhit University, Meerut, Section President, Environmental Science Section, Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata, Dr. Parikshit Verma, Senior Principal Scientist, Critical Zone Group, Water Technology and Management Division, CSIR, NEERI, Nagpur, Distinguished Welcoming the guests and participants, he said that World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5th June all over the world.

Chief Guest Prof. Akhilesh Pandey told in his speech that environmental protection has been given special emphasis in Indian culture. The importance of water has been described prominently in every religion. Resource person Dr. Parikshit Verma discussed in detail about ecosystem services in his lecture. He explained that together with the non-living components of its environment, it acts as a system. These biotic and abiotic components are linked together through the nutrient cycle and energy flow.
