The Dean of Medical convened an emergency meeting where a framework was set to deal with the infection. A ward in medical has been reserved for Black Fungus patients, where 15 patients can be admitted at present. Bed numbers will be increased as the number of patients increases. On the direction of the Dean, a committee of seven medical experts of different disciplines has been formed. The medical administration has approached the government for the availability of medicines. How dangerous the black fungus is can be gauged by the fact that the organ infected with the fungus may have to be removed from the operation. Such operations have been done in medical and some private hospitals where the eye, jaw, nose bone of the patient infected with black fungus had to be removed.

15 patients reached medical, three died: 15 patients suffering from black fungus have reached the Medical College Hospital within a few days.
