Ramkrishna Mule, Indore Shani Jayanti Indore. The 500-year-old Shani temple at Juni Indore in the city’s west zone is a center of faith among Shani devotees. This ancient Shani temple built in 60 by 40 is the center of attraction among Shani devotees. Thousands of devotees throng here every Saturday to anoint the five feet high and three feet wide Shani idol sitting on a red stone throne with sesame oil. It is said about this ancient temple that when Shivaji was liberated from the captivity of Aurangzeb, he had come to visit the Shani temple located in Juni Indore along with the Indeshwar Mahadev temple of the city.
Radha-Krishna, Shankar Parvati, Ganesh and Bal Hanuman and Goddess Mahalakshmi are also enshrined in the temple premises. Pt. Madhusudan Tiwari, the priest of the temple, tells that when Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was liberated from the Agra fort, he also came to see Shani temple. Behind the temple was also the Hakim Wada of the Marathas. Here Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, P. Renowned artists like Jasraj, Ghulam Ali, Zakir Hussain, Sonu Nigam have come to pay their respects. There is a vermilion on the idol of Shani. Till now his statue has not left the chola.
Shanidev left his place for Lord Rama
There are many legends about the temple. It is said that the idol of Lord Shani, who is enshrined here, is self-styled. The temple site had a mound 20 feet high and a well near it. Where Gopaldas Tiwari, the ancestor of the Pujari family, had come and stayed. Here Shani Dev Dev came in a dream and asked him to establish him. On this he expressed his inability citing his blindness. After this the light of his eyes came back. On digging the mound, the statue of Shani Dev was found. The statue was taken out and installed.
A legend is also associated with this statue that earlier Lord Shani was seated at the place of the present Ram temple but one night the statue changed its place. This is the place where the statue is currently installed. It is said that Shani Dev left his place for Lord Rama.
These events will be held today on Shani Jayanti
Shani Mandir Juni Indore : Many events will be held at Juni Indore Shani Mandir on 10th June on Shani Jayanti. Entry of devotees will be restricted due to corona infection. Janam Aarti will be held on this occasion at 12 noon. There will be recitation of Bhajan at 1.30 pm and Sunderkand at 5.30 pm. Devotees will be able to take advantage of them online.
Intentional Shani Mandir Jinsi Chauraha: The two-day Shanaishchar Jayanti festival began on Wednesday with the observance of the Corona guidelines. Gajasin Shani Temple Ushanagar : Shani Dev will be adorned by wearing a silver crown on this occasion. God’s darshan will be online. On the birth of son Shani Dev, on June 10, the father Surya Dev will get an eclipse. However, as this eclipse is not visible in the country, it will not have religious significance. According to Indian time, on the new moon of Jyeshtha month, according to Indian time, the eclipse will be from 1.42 pm to 6.40 pm. According to Mahamandaleshwar Dadu Maharaj, Amavasya date will remain till 4.22 pm. Shool and Dhriti yoga will remain on this day.
