The employees of the Mineral Department seized 375 cubic meters of sand

Chhindwara. After complaining of large scale illegal sand mining activities during the lockdown, now the Mineral Department has started action. On Wednesday, the team of Mineral and Revenue Department jointly inspected various areas under Tehsil Parasia and seized 375 cubic meters of sand and sent it for further action. District Mineral Officer Manish Palewar said that during investigation, illegal storage of mineral sand was found in village Tendukheda and village Haranbhata under Parasia tehsil. In which about 65 trolleys of mineral sand were found to be illegally stored in village Tendukheda near the government land on the side of the magazine line road and about 60 trolleys of mineral sand in village Haranbhata near the government Pench river. As a result of illegal storage of about 125 trolleys (about 375 cubic meters) of mineral sand on both the above areas, the mineral quantity 375 cubic meters of sand was confiscated under the mineral provisions. As no ownership rights of confiscated mineral sand were found on the spot, the confiscated mineral sand has been handed over to village Kotwar and the representative of the valid sand contractor of the district, M/s Shishir Khandar, till further orders. A case has been registered on the area for illegal storage of mineral sand under mineral provisions and action will be taken to send the case before the Collector’s court after taking action as per rules.
