In view of the problems faced during the last season, this time the administration is taking every step in haste. The monitoring of the entire process is in the hands of an IAS officer.
The district has fixed a target of 4.5 lakh tonnes of wheat procurement in this Rabi season. centers will be set up for procurement, one of which can be given to a self-help group or an FPO . The number of procurement centers is fixed, but warehouses and silocaps are being finalized keeping in mind the usefulness of the centres. Till now centers have been finalized. While the process of determining the remaining is in the final stage. Last season, about 1.25 lakh tonnes of production was less than the target, so in this season 65 Despite the increase in sowing area of 1000 hectares, the target has been set at only 4.5 lakh tonnes. In the last season only three lakh 65 thousand tonnes could be earned. The procurement work will start in the district from April 1. Total 65 thousand for selling wheat in the district Farmers have registered.
The administration does not want to leave any stone unturned
There have always been allegations of arbitrariness regarding the determination of centres. Till the last season, the entire responsibility of transporting wheat from the center to the godowns was in the hands of the District Procurement Committee. Food and Civil Supplies Department, District Marketing, Civil Supplies Corporation and Warehousing Corporation were included in this committee. In this process, the staff of the administration used to interfere in name only. But this time all the SDMs have also been included in the process. The District Procurement Committee cannot take any step forward without the consent of the SDM. An ADM has been deployed to keep an eye on this whole system. This year, the MSP of wheat has been increased by 110 Rs per quintal. Presently the price of wheat is around Rs. 
a quintal. It is possible that these prices may go down further after the commencement of procurement. In such a situation, it is possible that enthusiasm can be seen in the work of wheat procurement.
