Bhopal. (Navdunia Representative) The district administration has come into action due to the complaints coming in to sell medicines or medical equipment such as pulse oximeter, thermometer etc. at a higher price than prescribed. Now if medicines and equipment are sold at a higher price on a medical, then strict action will be taken on the operator. In this regard, Collector and District Magistrate Avinash Lavania has directed all the medical shop operators in the district on Saturday.

The collector has also appealed to the consumers to get the bills from the shopkeeper concerned while taking medicines and medical equipment. If a shopkeeper charges more than the prescribed price, complain to the concerned SDM along with the documents. If the complaint is found to be true in the investigation, legal action will be taken against the guilty persons. The Collector said that it is a time of calamity. It is a heinous crime to sell material at a high price to people at such a time. Punitive action will be taken against such criminals.

Collector Avinash Lavania has directed all the government fair price shop sellers of the district to ensure that the beneficiaries are supplied food in the prescribed quantity to the government. Any irregularity will not be accepted in this work. The rules of physical distance should be followed at the shops and a circle should be made. Inspire people to wear masks. No poor person should be deprived of food grains. Foodgrains should be made available by filling the declaration form of those whose eligibility slips could not be issued. The Collector has instructed all SDM and departmental officers to constantly inspect government fair price shops and confirm with consumers that they have received free food grains in prescribed quantity. If irregularity is found in any shop, the concerned shop should be canceled and statutory action should be taken against the seller and the work of operating the shop should be assigned to the self-help groups as per eligibility.
