Jabalpur High Court News: High Court allows lawyer and Munshi to visit the district headquarters in the lockdown

Jabalpur, AboutGyan Representative. The Madhya Pradesh High Court has exempted lawyers and their clerks from traffic in all district headquarters in the state. The Couple Bench of Chief Justice Mohammad Rafiq and Justice Atul Sreedharan has said that during the lockdown, application for the pass of the traffic will have to be made with the Collector of the concerned district or the officer nominated by him.

Bhopal lawyer filed the petition: The petition filed on behalf of Bhopal resident advocate Siddharth Singh said that on May 3, the lawyers and their clerks of Jabalpur, Indore and Gwalior have been granted exemption during the lockdown. Virtual hearings are going on in Bhopal’s district court and several tribunals during the lockdown. For this, lawyers and their clerks have to travel from their home to office. At times during the course of the movement, fines are filed against the lawyers and their clerks.

Relief to lawyers and their clerks of all district headquarters: On behalf of the petitioner, advocate Ajay Gupta argued that lawyers and their clerks should be exempted from traveling in all the district headquarters of the state except Bhopal. On behalf of the state government, Deputy Advocate General Swapnil Ganguly said that the process of making the passes near the lockdown in Jabalpur, Indore and Gwalior through the High Court Bar Association is underway. For the remaining District Headquarters of the state including Bhopal, a pass can be applied before the Collector or his nominee. After the hearing, the Division Bench has ordered all the District Headquarters of the State to apply for a pass before the Collector, providing exemption to lawyers and their clerks from traffic in the lockdown.
