Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University: Vice Chancellor Dr. Bisen planted improved variety of paddy

Jabalpur, New Dunia Reporter. The Vice Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Bisen planted an improved variety of paddy revolution in the field of the University’s National Seed Project. This improved variety developed by the scientists of JNKVV gives yield per acre 32 quintal. Hence this variety is very popular among the farmers.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Bisen has done an inspirational work by starting transplanting in Kharif season. During this, Director Research Services of the University Dr. GK Koutu, Director Teaching Dr. Abhishek Shukla, Director Sector Dr. DK Pehalwan, Dr. ML Kewat, Dr. RS Shukla, Dr. Sanjay Singh and other members were present. Director Research Services Dr. GK Koutu and Principal Scientist Dr. RS Shukla told that this is the appropriate time to transplant for paddy cultivation in Kharif season. Dr. GK Koutu told that the time till August to transplant paddy is suitable for.

It was not raining till now but now as it has started raining then paddy can be planted. The university is continuously researching and improving the paddy seeds to take less water and less time to take paddy crop.

Presently work is going on on Kranti variety of paddy. JR 206 is another Kranti variety which gives good yield in less time. Due to the demand and utility of revolution in the market, work is being done on this variety. Kranti paddy is used a lot for the mixture of Poha, Idli. Along with paddy, farmers can also take urad crop during this time. Krishi Vigyan Kendra is continuously promoting these varieties to reach the farmers.
