Bhopal. Secretary State Election Commission B.S. Jamod has informed that as per the directions of the Supreme Court, the proceedings related to the tabulation of counting of votes and declaration of election results for all the posts in the three-tier Panchayat elections will be postponed. Separate instructions will be given by the Commission in this regard.

Jamod has informed that according to the election program issued by the Commission, the counting of votes to be done at the polling station and the block headquarters for Panch and Sarpanch and For Janpad Panchayat and District Panchayat member, the counting of votes to be done from EVM will be done at the development block headquarters.

All records related to counting of votes should be sealed and kept in safe custody in the presence of the candidates/agents present. will. In the event of uncontested election to any post, the Returning Officer will neither declare the candidate elected nor issue a certificate of election.
