Khajuri Bazaar, known for selling cards, is deserted during Valentine’s Week. Valentine’s Day cards are available at shops in various areas of the city including Vijay Nagar, Saket Nazar, Bhanwarkuan, LIG, Rajwada, but buyers are missing. Cards ranging from Rs. 50 to Rs. 2000 are available at the shops. Shopkeepers say that now instead of giving cards to each other, people are resorting to internet media.

There was a crowd of buyers

Once upon a time, due to the sale of cards in Khajuri Bazar, there used to be a crowd outside the shops. In many places, security personnel had to be deployed to manage the system, but now the situation has completely changed. The deserted market is missing the old days. )

According to Khajuri Bazar trader Harish Agarwal, shopkeepers have stopped keeping greeting cards in the last few years due to protests against Valentine’s Day. Remembering the old days, he says that once upon a time there used to be tremendous trading in the market throughout the week, but now the situation has completely changed.

Price Increased but sales decreased

Akshat Singh, a shopkeeper of Palasia area, says that The price of the card increased manifold in the year but the shopkeepers did not get the benefit of it. Card sales have declined sharply over the years. The condition is that only a few cards are being sold.

Business is halved

Musthafa Zenithwala, a shopkeeper in Palasia area, says that the card business has halved. Earlier 10-14 Cards of rupees used to come, in spite of that thousands of rupees business was done daily. Today the price of the card has increased many times, but the business is not even half.

The trend of Valentine’s Day cards has decreased rapidly. This is to say of Vikas Jain, a businessman of Khajuri Bazar. He said that at some point of time there was a situation that security personnel had to be deployed outside the shops. There used to be a lot of difficulty in controlling the crowd in the market, but now cards are not available in Khajuri market.
