Ban on bringing mobiles to workers in power generation units

Jabalpur, Naiduniya Representative. MP Power Generating Company has banned the use of mobiles in power stations. This restriction is on the personnel of the lower cadre than the supervisor. Now every employee will have to deposit his mobile with the supervisor before entering the thermal room. In case of emergency, the relatives of the worker can contact only with the supervisor. Instructions have been issued from the headquarters to implement this order with immediate effect.

Order has been issued by the Human Resource Department of MP Power Generating Company. It has been extended to all Thermal Power Stations and Hydro Power Stations. It has been said in the order that it has been seen in accidents occurring in power plants that unnecessary use of mobiles etc. is done at the work place by company personnel, contract and contract workers etc. Due to this accidents happen. In such a situation, the company management has put a ban on keeping the lower level personnel of supervisor cadre working in thermal and hydro power house and equipment during mobile work. During duty, the employee will go by handover the mobile to his senior in-charge. Instructions have been given to strictly implement this order. The company management has made it clear that if the order is neglected, then the work-in-charge will be held fully responsible for it.

Electricity affairs experts said that the talk related to the use of mobile for accidents is misleading. In Assam, the electricity company is trying to prevent the disturbances going on in the thermal powerhouse from being exposed. Information related to technical faults in many thermal houses is becoming public through the media. After this the administration decided to stop the use of mobile during work.
